LARGE PAINTED CLOCK with plinth,Louis XV, the movement signed RABBY A PARIS (Francois Rabby, maitre 1717), Paris circa 1745/50. Painted wood. Enamel dial and verge escapement striking the 1/2 hours on bell. Exceptionally fine, matte and polished gilt bronze mounts and applications. 50x35x129 cm. Provenance: from a highly important Swiss private collection.

Holz bemalt; auf rotem Fond bunte Blumen und Blätter. Markant geschweiftes Gehäuse mit Blumenaufsatz auf sich markant verjüngendem Sockel. Emailzifferblatt mit arabischen Minuten- und römischen Stundenzahlen. Spindelwerk mit 1/2-Stundenschlag auf Glocke. Ausserordentlich feine, matt- und glanzvergoldete Bronzebeschläge und -applikationen. 50x35x129 cm.
