SMALL LADY'S DESK,Louis XV, from a Paris master workshop, probably by B. VAN RISENBURGH (Bernard II Van Risenburgh, maitre 1735) or J. DUBOIS (Jacques Dubois, maitre 1742), circa 1760. Tulipwood and rosewood veneer also finely inlaid in "bois de bout" with flowers, leaves and frieze. The desk with bombé form on all sides with tall shaped legs and a sloped leather-lined writing surface, the fitted interior with drawers and compartment with a secret compartment. Decorated with fine matte and polished gilt bronze mounts and sabots. Freestanding. 56x40x(open 67)x88 cm. Provenance: from an important European collection
