MANTEL CLOCK WITH BOULLE MARQUETRY,known as a "tete de poupee", Regence, the dial and movement signed BALTAZAR MARTINOT A PARIS (Balthazar II Martinot, 1636-1714), Paris circa 1670. Red tortoiseshell, inlaid with partly engraved brass and ebonized wood. The front lined with old, dark velvet and with silver chapter ring. Fine verge escapement striking the 1/2 hours on bell. Gilt mounts and applications. 29x17x56 cm.

Rotes Schildpatt, eingelegt mit teils graviertem Messing und ebonisiertes Holz. Bastionsförmiges Gehäuse mit Giebelkranz und geschweiftem, profiliertem Rechteck-Sockel auf Tatzenfüssen. Die mit altem, dunklem Samt bezogene Front mit Silberzifferring, römischen Stunden- und arabischen Minutenzahlen. 2 feine Zeiger. Feines Spindelwerk mit 1/2-Stundenschlag auf Glocke. Vergoldete Beschläge und Applikationen. 29x17x56 cm.
