"Through reflection I have come to the following hypothesis: The proportional enlargement of the "motive" has become necessary by increasing the speed in all areas of our life. This speed forces us to be impatient and hasty. We no longer indulge in long contemplations, we have lost the love of detail. Our existence has become complicated ... We lose an enormous amount of time... Therefore we want to absorb faster, we seek the direct, powerful momentary shock. Large forms, blatant local colours meet this new human desire." Victor Vasarely
