CARRACCI, ANNIBALE (Bologna 1560 - 1609 Rome).Mercury gives Paris the golden apple. Etching, 31.5 x 22.5 cm. On thick wove paper with watermark: Lamb in a double circle. Signed lower right in plate: Anni. Carr. in. fec. Bartsch/ Strauss 204. - Fine clear and even impression. Cut up to border and on the right hand side just inside the border, the border visible mainly on three sides. The upper left corner with crease. Otherwise in very fine condition. Rare. From the collection of Conrad Baumann v.Tischendorf (2nd half of the 19th century.)

Merkur reicht Paris den goldenen Apfel. Radierung, 31,5 x 22,5 cm. Auf festem Bütten mit Wz. Osterlamm in zweikonturigem Kreis. In der Platte unten rechts sign.: Anni. Carr. in. fec. Bartsch/ Strauss 204. - Schöner, klarer und gleichmässiger Druck. Bis zur Einfassungslinie bzw. am rechten Rand knapp innerhalb dieser geschnitten, die Einfassunglinie dreiseitig überwiegend sichtbar. Die obere linke Ecke mit Quetschfalte. Sonst in sehr schöner Erhaltung. - Selten. - Aus der Sammlung Conrad Baumann v.Tischendorf (2.H. 19. Jh.)
