SMALL TOWER CLOCK WITH REAR PENDULUM
Augsburg, 2nd half of the 17th century.
Gilt copper and brass. Architectural case on a profiled stepped base and flattened feet. Openwork, dome-shaped belfry with balustrades and pyramid-shaped ornament on top. Engraved decoration of foliage and fruit festoons. Front with a silvered chapter ring engraved with Roman hour numerals and an alarm disc in the center. Underneath is a small engraved dial for the minutes. On the back is an engraved and silvered dial for setting the striking mechanism. Movement with verge escapement, hour striking mechanism on bell.
