European Porcelain & Ceramics
Works from Meissen, Sèvres, Strasbourg, Nymphenburg, Du Paquier, Zurich, as well as Italian Maiolica and creations from Imperial Russia are avidly sought after by a discerning buying public, sometimes attaining record prices: for example, a rare and important Meissen ‘crinoline’ group from the Müller-Frei collection sold for a record CHF 214 000. Among the other highlights in recent years are a rare Meissen candlestick modelled by Johann Gottlieb Kirchner that sold for CHF 78 000, a large Meissen figure of a great crested grebe modelled by Kändler that changed hands for CHF 144 000, and an important Meissen travel service bearing the arms of the Venetian patrician family Correr sold for CHF 114 000.
Sabine Neumaier, Head of Department for Porcelain & Faience, is available to estimate single items or entire collections for our upcoming auctions.
