Édouard Vallet – a Swiss private collection
2026 marks the 150th anniversary of the Geneva painter Édouard Vallet (1876–1929). To mark the occasion, an important Swiss private collection comprising 28 works by Vallet is being made accessible to the public for the first time.
From early works dating from around 1900 to the concentrated landscapes and figure paintings of Valais from the 1920s, the collection offers an unusually broad insight into the oeuvre of an artist for whom landscape, colour, form and human presence are inseparably linked.
Seven of the works on display will be auctioned by Koller as part of the Swiss Art sale on 3 December 2026.

ABOUT KOLLER CITY SPACE
Back to our roots. Under this guiding theme, we have opened our KOLLER CITY SPACE at Rämistrasse 5 in January 2026. Here, where our auction house was based for thirty years, the story comes full circle. Pierre Koller, who founded the company as a small antiques shop in 1958, moved into premises at Rämistrasse 8 in 1961, just a few steps from the legendary Kronenhalle restaurant. The former Galerie Koller quickly became a pioneer of the Zurich art and antiques trade – and a place where collectors, dealers and curious visitors would meet.
In 1991, the auction house relocated from Rämistrasse to Hardturmstrasse. Over the past 35 years, we have developed a modern auction house here. Across 1600 square metres, more than 9000 objects are exhibited each year prior to auction. Eighty members of staff, art storage, conservation workshops and our extensive archive have since been brought together under one roof.
Despite this excellent infrastructure, we always retained the desire to maintain a presence – a kind of shop window – in the heart of Zurich.
With our new, intimate showroom at Rämistrasse 5, we are now realising this long-held wish. Here we present highlights from forthcoming auctions, share insights into recent auction results, and offer personal advice to clients wishing to have works of art appraised and sold by our specialists.
