This painting was probably painted by a follower of Jan Brueghel the Elder, possibly in the workshop of his son Jan Brueghel the Younger (1601-1678). A version of this composition by Jan Brueghel the Elder himself was offered on the Berlin art market in 1908 (27.10.1908, lot no. 48, present location unknown).
