Louis XV, France, 18th century.
Purpleheart and rosewood in veneer, finely inlaid "en papillon" and with a diamond pattern. Hinged writing surface, the inside lined with green leather, above 2 drawers. Fitted interior, with drawers and compartments. Secret compartment. Later, gilt bronze mounts and sabots. Free-standing. 3 keys.
98 x 50(open 86) x 102 cm.


Restored. Veneer, in part later. Top, slightly warped. Scratches.
