PAINTED TOWER CLOCK,Renaissance, Switzerland circa 1520/40. Chased iron. Open case with exceptionally fine corner pinnacles and prominent bell cage on a later framework. Finely painted, supplemented dial with the adage "WENNS UBEL GEHT HAB ICH GEDULD/VERZAG ICH NIT SO BRINGTS MIR HULD". Fine iron movement with striking and clockwork mechanism with foliot, hour striking on bell and hammer in the form of a mythical creature. 37x41x70 cm. H with stand 207 cm.

Eisen getrieben. Offenes, rechteckiges Gehäuse mit ausserordentlich feinen Eckfialen und markantem Glockenstuhl auf späterem Gestell. Fein bemaltes, ergänztes, rechteckiges Zifferblatt mit römischen Stundenzahlen und Sinnspruch "WENNS ÜBEL GEHT HAB ICH GEDULD/VERZAG ICH NIT SO BRINGTS MIR HULD". Feines Eisenwerk mit Schlag- und Gehwerk mit Waage, Stundenschlag auf Glocke und Hammer in Form eines Fabelwesens. 37x41x70 cm. H mit Stand 207 cm.
