A GILT COPPER FIGURE OF VAJRADHARA WITH TURQUOISE AND CORAL INLAYS. Nepalese school in Tibet, 14th/15th c. Height 13 cm. Consecration plate lost.

Nepalesische Schule in Tibet, 14./15. Jh. H 13 cm.
Feuervergoldetes Kupfer mit kleinen Stein- und Koralleneinlagen. Der Urbuddha hält seine Attribute Vajra und Ghanta überkreuzt vor der Brust und den Blick gesenkt. Er wiegt sich leicht in der Taille und sitzt auf einem doppelten Lotosthron. Der Vajra steht für die alles durchdringende Leere (sunyata), die Glocke für die absolute Weisheit (prajna). Verschlussplatte verloren.
