ENTHRONED VIRGIN AND CHILD,Romanesque, Spain, 12th/13th century. Carved wood, verso hollowed, partly covered with canvas and with remains of paint. Incomplete hands. Supplements to the throne and Mary's right forearm. Later retouching to the head of the child and at the shoulder. H 85 cm. Provenance: former Raoul Heilbronner (1847-1941) collection, Paris.

romanisch, Spanien, 12./13. Jh.
Holz geschnitzt und verso gehöhlt, teils mit Leinwand bezogen und mit Resten der Fassung. In aufrechter Haltung statisch sitzende Gottesmutter auf Thronstuhl, das Jesuskind auf dem linken Knie, beide mit erhobenem rechten Arm. Hände unvollständig. Ergänzungen am Thron und an Marias rechtem Unterarm. Spätere Überarbeitungen am Kopf des Kindes sowie an der Schulter. H 85 cm.
