A GILT COPPER FIGURE OF VAJRADHARA. Tibet, ca. 16th c. Height 14 cm. Some inlays replaced. Partly regilt.

Feuervergoldetes Kupfer mit Steineinlagen, davon einige ersetzt.Teilweise nachvergoldet. Der Urbuddha sitzt im Lotossitz auf einem doppelten Lotosthron mit einem dünnen Meditationskissen. Er hält seine Attribute Vajra und Ghanta überkreuzt vor der Brust. Der Vajra steht für die alles durchdringende Leere (sunyata), die Glocke für die absolute Weisheit (prajna).
