A BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI SEATED ON AN A HIGH THRONE.

Laos, ca. 16th c. Height 93 cm. Donator's inscription in pali and tham at base.
Bronze mit dunklem Glanz. Der historische Buddha sitzt in Maravijaya-Position auf einem mehrfach getreppten Thronsockel mit leicht ausschwingenden Ecken. Stachelige Noppenlocken bedecken das Haupt, die Ketumala ist abnehmbar. Ein freundliches Lächeln erhellt das Gesicht. Stifter-Inschrift am Sockel in Pali und Tham (laotische Schrift für buddhistische Texte).
