In her expertise from 28.05.2017, Donatella Biagi Maino, Milan, confirmed the authenticity of the drawing and described it as characteristic in all respects of the work of Ubaldo Gandolfi. It served as a model for an engraving by his brother Gaetano Gandolfi, also a successful painter and engraver. A painting with the same subject is located in the Arcivescofado in Vicenca. In addition, there was a further version of the drawing in the Collezione Bagni di Milano.
