EQUATORIAL, PORTABLE SUN DIAL

Probably Germany, middle of the 18th century. The underside, monogrammed LTM.
Brass, finely engraved with blossoms and scrolls, and gilt. Octagonal base plate with recessed compass. Hinged hour ring and graduated arc engraved with the latitudes. The underside features information on the latitudes of several cities.
5.2 × 5 × 6 cm.
