After carrying out an examination on the basis of a photograph, Dr. Fred G. Meijer has indicated that the present still life was created in the workshop of Frans Francken the Younger, for which we would like to thank him. Experienced still-life painters were active in the workshop of Frans Francken the Younger, including Andries Daniels (ca. 1580-1640), to whom this painting was attributed in the past.
