SMALL TOWER CLOCK WITH A FIGURE STRIKING THE BELL
Switzerland or Germany, 16th / 17th century.
Wrought iron. Open case constructed of flat bands. Movement and striking mechanism arranged one behind the other, the movement with verge escapement and foliot, striking mechanism striking the hour on bell. The top decorated with a seated, carved figure striking the bell. Later sheet-metal dial, inscribed: Zeyt eilt, teilt, heilt.
