A FINE BUDDHA ON AN ELABORATE HIGH THRONE. Laos, 16th c. H 77 cm. Detachable ketumala.

Bronze mit schöner Patina. Der Buddha sitzt auf einem aufwändig getreppten, in der Mitte eingezogenen eckigen Thronsockel mit dekorativ hochgezogenen Ecken. Wir sehen ihn in Maravijaya-Position, dem Versucher Mara trotzend. Das freundliche Gesicht trägt typisch laotische Züge. Die Ketumala ist abnehmbar.
