A FINELY ENGRAVED BRASS GRAPHOMETER, circa 1690. Sign. N. BION À PARIS. The protractor engraved with 2 grade scales 0-180. Central compass box with wind rose, directions, blued-steel needle and graduated around the edge. Base and alidades with upright sights, ball for ball-and-socket mounting, H 28 cm.

Messing. Durchbrochener Halbkreis graviert mit 2 gegenläufigen Winkelskalen von 0-180 Grad. Mittig montierter Kompass mit eingravierter Windrose, Gradeinteilung und Himmelsrichtungen, gebläute Stahlnadel. Der Kompass flankiert von 2 Delfinen. An den Enden des Halbkreises sind in der Nord-Süd-Richtung der Messaufstellung 2 Absehen angebracht. Eine drehbare Alhidade mit 2 weiteren Dioptern ist unterhalb des Kompasses montiert. Kugelgelenk, mit Stativaufsatz. H ca. 28 cm.
