A BRASS GRAPHOMETER WITH FINE OPENWORK DECORATION, possibly France, 17th c. Bearing monogram MS. The protractor engraved with 2 grade scales 0-180. Small compass box with engraved directions and blued-steel needle. Base and alidades with upright sights (1 broken off), ball for ball-and-socket mounting, H 20 cm.

Messing. Halbkreis graviert mit 2 gegenläufigen Winkelskalen von 0-180 Grad sowie reich verziert mit durchbrochenem Dekor in Form von Voluten und Engeln. Kleine Kompassbüchse mit eingravierten Himmelsrichtungen und gebläuter Stahlnadel. An den Enden des Halbkreises sind 2 Absehen angebracht (1 abgebrochen). Eine drehbare Alhidade mit 2 weiteren Absehen ist unterhalb des Kompasses montiert. Kugelgelenk, Stativaufsatz. H 20 cm.
