A BRASS HORIZONTAL TABLE SUNDIAL, Paris, circa 1700. Sign. BUTTERFIELD PARIS. Square horizontal plate with compass box, folding gnomon and bird-shaped pointer. The plate with engraved latitutes and hours. 16.6x16.6x7.8 cm.

Bronze. Quadratische Grundplatte mit aufgesetzter Kompassbüchse sowie aufklappbarem Gnomon mit Zeiger in Form eines Vogels, an dessen Schnabelspitze die eingestellte Polhöhe abgelesen werden kann. Die Platte mit eingravierten Polhöhen-Angaben und Zifferringen. 16,6x16,6x7,8 cm.
