CLOCK WITH MUSICAL MOVEMENT,Louis XVI, the dial signed PETER RAU IN WIEN, Austria circa 1820/50. Matte and polished gilt bronze. The rectangular case with masks, caryatids, vases, rosettes and shells, with shaped cornice and putto atop. The musical movement encased in the plinth. The clock with enamel dial for hours, minutes, days of the week and months, also the planets. With anchor escapement striking the 1/2 hours on 2 bells. Set on later ebonised wood plinth. 41x25x78 cm.

Bronze matt- und glanzvergoldet. Rechteckiges, mit Maskaron, Karyatiden, Vasen, Rosetten und Muscheln beschmücktes Gehäuse mit geschweiftem Kranz und Puttoaufsatz auf Kreiselfüssen, auf Bastionssockel. Darin das Musikwerk mit Walzenspiel. Emailzifferblatt mit arabischen Minuten- und Stundenzahlen, Wochen- und Monatstagen sowie Planetensymbolen. Ankerwerk mit 1/2-Stundenschlag auf 2 Gocken. Aus späterem, ebonisiertem Holzsockel. 41x25x78 cm.
