NETSUKE.Japan, 2nd half of the 19th century. H 3.8 cm. Ivory. Ebisu is depicted riding on his fish and handing over a hammer, which had fallen into the water, to his colleague Daikoku. A rat is carrying Daikoku and in the process of crossing a small bridge. Signed on small rectangular red lacquer plates: Masatsugu.

Japan, 2. Hälfte 19.Jh. H 3,8 cm.
Elfenbein. Ebisu auf seinem Fisch reitend reicht seinem Kollegen Daikoku den Hammer, der ins Wasser gefallen war. Daikoku lässt sich von einer Ratte tragen und überquert gerade eine kleine Brücke. Signiert auf rechteckigem Rotlackplättchen: Masatsugu.
