NETSUKE.Japan, 2nd half of the 19th century. H 3.8 cm. Ivory. Ebisu is depicted riding on his fish and handing over a hammer, which had fallen into the water, to his colleague Daikoku. A rat is carrying Daikoku and in the process of crossing a small bridge. Signed on small rectangular red lacquer plates: Masatsugu.
