BUREAU-PLAT "AUX ESPAGNOLETTES" WITH "PIETRA DURA" INLAY,Régence style, probably by BEFORT JEUNE (active circa 1860/1890), Paris circa 1880. Ebonised pearwood finely inlaid with "Pietra Dura" in the form of flowers and birds. The top inlaid with tulipwood and rosewood in the form of flowers, leaves, cartouches fillets and frieze in the style of A.C. Boulle. The shaped top edged in bronze, the front with 3 drawers and the back with the same but sham arrangement. Decorated with exceptionally rich matte and polished gilt bronze mounts, sabots and applications. 155x84x79 cm. Provenance: from an English collection

Régence-Stil, wohl von BEFORT JEUNE (tätig um 1860/1890), Paris um 1880.
Birne ebonisiert und mit ausserordentlich feinen "Pietra Dura"-Applikationen; Blumen, Früchte, Blätter und Vögel. Das Blatt mit teils kolorierten Rosenholz- und Palisander-Einlagen; Blumen, Blätter, Kartuschen, Filets und Zierfries in der Art von A.C. Boulle. Geschweiftes, rechteckiges, in profilierten Bronzestab gefasstes, vorstehendes Blatt auf wellig ausgeschnittener Zarge in "contour à l'arbalète" mit markant geschweiften Beinen. Front mit 2 per Knopfdruck auf der Unterseite zu öffnende Schubladen. Ausserordentlich reiche, matt- und glanzvergoldete Bronzebeschläge, -sabots und -applikationen in Form von "espagnolettes", Maskaronen, Blattwerk und Zierfries. 155x84x79 cm.
