TOILETRY CASKET,Louis XIV, Paris circa 1780. Brown tortoiseshell finely inlaid with engraved mother of pearl. A central reserve with an antique style figural scene, flowers, leaves, cartouches and frieze. The lid glazed inside. Some small losses. 49x48x14 cm. Provenance: - Didier Aaron, Paris. - from an important European private collection.

Holz belegt mit braunem Schildpatt und ausserordentlich fein eingelegt mit graviertem Perlmutt; zentrale Reserve mit antikisierender Figurenstaffage, Blumen, Blätter, Kartuschen und Zierfries. Rechteckiger Korpus mit vorstehendem, innen verglastem Deckel auf profiliertem und gewulstetem Sockel. Kleine Fehlstellen. 49x48x14 cm.
