PAIR OF EARTH AND CELESTIAL GLOBES,George III, signed G. ADAMS (George Adams, 1750-1795) and dated 1782, England. Paper on stucco with wood and brass. The Earth globe representing the world at the time of King George III, the celestial globe with the zodiac. Fluted, probably later holder with 3 legs connected by a large compass. Restorations. D 62 cm, H 98 cm.

Papier auf Stucco und Holz sowie Messing. Der Erdglobus mit Weltdarstellung zur Zeit von König George III. und Ring zur Bestimmung von Breiten- und Längengraden, der Himmelsglobus mit Sternzeichen, in kannelierter, wohl späterer Halterung auf 3 Vierkantbeinen, verbunden mit grossem Kompass. Restaurationen und Reparaturen. D 60 cm, ohne Rahmen 46 cm, H 98 cm.
