LARGE BODHISATTVA.Sino-Tibetan, 16th/17th century. H 33 cm. Originally gilt bronze figure, with blue-coloured hair, mouth and eyes also painted. The crown slightly restored, hair band damaged, plinth slightly warped at the side.

Gut proportionierte, ursprünglich vergoldete Bronzefigur von kraftvoller Gestaltung und präziser Ausführung. Der prinzlich geschmückte Bodhisattva sitzt in Meditationshaltung auf einem Lotossockel, die rechte Hand zur Brust erhoben, während in der offenen linken Hand das Wunschjuwel in Form einer Kugel liegt. Sowohl der Lotossockel wie auch die Krone sind umlaufend ausgeführt. Die aufgetürmten und in Locken über die Oberarme fallenden Haare sind von blauer Farbe. Mund und Augenpartie sind ebenfalls bemalt. Krone leicht rest., Haarband besch., Sockel seitlich leicht verformt.
