IMPORTANT CLOCK "L'ASTRONOMIE EGYPTIENNE",

Empire, the bronze probably by J.F. DENIERE (Jean François Denière, active until 1844), the dial signed GALLE RUE RICHELIEU 93 (Claude Galle, maître 1786), Paris, ca. 1812/15. Matte and polished gilt bronze. Standing Urania with a long, pleated gown with telescope and compass. Finely engraved bronze dial with hours in Roman numerals. Parisian movement striking the 1/2–hour on bell. Gilding restored. The compass replaced. 65.5x32x95 cm.
