SKELETON CLOCK WITH MOON PHASE,

Louis XVI, the dial signed FOURNIER A PARIS (probably Louis Fournier, maître 1748), Paris, ca. 1780.
Gilt bronze and brass and black marble. 4 finely painted chapter rings in 3 rows on a rectangular plinth. Central chapter ring with hours and minutes in Arabic numerals. Days of the week and moon phase via 2 chapter rings. 3/4 chapter ring for regulating the pendulum. 7 gilt hands, finely pierced. Skeleton anchor movement striking the 1/2–hour on bell. Fine sun pendulum. Later bronze mounts. 22x11x40 cm.
