DECORATIVE LID - The Embden Collection
Louis XIV, France, late 17th century.
Walnut carved with decorative friezes, leaves, and two fantasy heads. Oval shape with rounded handle. The oval surface has a rectangular box and a sliding lid. The outer edge has holes, possibly for lacing. Four small feet.
