Literature:
According to the index card, Prof. Marvin Chauncey Ross refers to the vase as a Hellenistic stylistic element that was adopted by the Romans and continued to be used in Antioch during Roman times and beyond until the 5th century. The crescent moons, on the other hand, are stylistic elements found in jewelry from the early Migration Period (cf. B. Rupp: Die Herkunft der Zelleneinlage. Bonn 1937, Pl. IV from the Dumbarton Oaks Collection in Washington).
