- Probably auction Theodor Fischer, Lucerne, June 13–17, 1950, lot 815 (acquired June 17, 1950, according to index card).

- By inheritance in the same Swiss family collection, Lucerne.

Exhibited:
Probably Kunsthaus Zurich, E. and M. Kofler-Truniger Collection, Lucerne, June 7–August 2, 1964, No. 637 (with exhibition catalog).

Literature:
Probably Kunsthaus Zürich (ed.): Sammlung E. und M. Kofler-Truniger, Lucerne. Exhibition catalog, June 7–August 2, 1964, p. 66, No. 637 (without ill.).

It cannot be said with certainty whether the pin mentioned in the exhibition catalog of the Kunsthaus Zurich (No. 637) actually corresponds to the pin on offer. However, the reference in the Zurich exhibition catalog to Lindenschmit's "Die Altertümer unserer heidnischen Vorzeit, Mainz 1858, Heft X, Tafel 6" is identical to the reference in the auction catalog of Dr. F. X. Weizinger & Co. (Munich 1918), and therefore it can be assumed with a high degree of certainty that this is the pin on offer. The length of the pin given is also identical to the length of the pin on offer.
