BOOK ILLUMINATION.-Northern France (Rouen?), circa 1480. Page from a book of hours with a depiction of the coronation of Mary, in a setting of the time, framed with flowers, fruits and acanthus leaves, with an insect on a gold ground. With a four-line Latin text and illuminated initial A: A (d muerte nos deus salutans noster et suerte tuam tuam a nobis...). Verso a twenty-one line text with illuminated initials and in-fill ornament. Gouache on vellum, heightened with gold. 18.4 x 12 cm. Framed. Provenance: - Albrecht Neuhaus art dealer, Würzburg - Swiss private collection (since 1978)
