The light intensity and the changeover of the digits can be conveniently changed via the Internet browser or with the aid of an iOS or Android application. In addition, it is possible to indicate the date (day, month, year), every minute, for a few seconds. NX.2 has a wireless Wi-Fi module that provides the watch with an Internet connection. The time is automatically synchronized via the Internet. The user can access all of the settings through a browser, and keep the watch updated through automatic firmware updates. The watch does not require an Internet connection in order to function. The Internet only serves as a synchronization source for the time.

Under the direction of Stefan Kuonen, responsible for the Watch and Industry Division of the Battenberg Foundation, the Nixie tubes were brought out of "hiding", and were reinterpreted in the unique art object NX.2.
A Nixie tube is an electronic component for a digital display, and is based on the principle of the glow lamp. Nixie tubes were used in the 1960s and 1970s, primarily as digital displays in measuring instruments and electronic calculators. For the realization of this ambitious project, Kuonen was supported by the renowned Swiss designer Björn Ischi and the Czech programmer Dalibor Farny, who brought the Nixie tubes back to life. In order to achieve the desired format of the time display in the NX.2 design object, without thereby changing the classic arrangement, four of six Nixie tubes were redesigned to be installed upside down. Just like in a glow lamp, the inserted characters and numerals are electrically charged, causing the surrounding inert gas to glow. With the time display using Nixie tubes, Battenberg Innovations is breaking new ground. The use and assembly of the Nixie tubes are being redefined. This format will be exclusively reserved for the NX.2 time-display design objects.

Battenberg Innovations belongs to the Foundation of the same name, which stands for professional integration and education. The Foundation is bilingual and is based in Biel. Under the "Battenberg Innovations" label, ideas are developed and implemented in novel projects. With the goal of creating something special like the NX.2 in mind, an unusual way of displaying time as an art object has been created, which is unparalleled in terms of its exclusivity, innovation and design. The NX.2 time display, limited to 10 items, fits every interior style. Tradition and modernity are combined and impress by the unusual way of displaying time in a digital manner. The elements linking this exclusive object concern the symbiosis of Man - Time - Design.
