Strong international interest in works by classic artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Rembrandt van Rijn or Giovanni Battista Piranesi characterises the market for Old Master prints. Coveted by both older and younger collectors – not infrequently to enrich and provide a contrast to collections of contemporary art – old and rare original graphic works consistently fetch high prices.

In addition to prints with a startlingly modern feel by Francisco de Goya, among the successes in recent auctions was an ‘Entombment’ by the Renaissance artist Parmigianino.

Our auctions feature works from the beginnings of printing through the 19th century and are held twice a year, in March and September. In addition, rare works from the specialty field of Helvetica are offered.

Franz Diegelmann, our specialist and department head for Old Master & 19th Century Prints, will be pleased to value your works in view of a possible sale through our auctions.

We accept consignments until mid-January for the March auction and until the end of July for the September auction.
