Eugen Bracht's paintings bear witness to a particular artistic skill in capturing nature and animals. The impressions he gained on numerous journeys and excursions were transferred to large-format paintings, which were often preceded by extensive on-site studies. The remarkable diversity to be found in Eugen Bracht's oeuvre can be attributed to his intensive engagement with different motifs and styles. The shift from an academic style of painting towards Symbolism and Impressionism is clearly evident in the artist's oeuvre. His outstanding reputation as a landscape painter remained untouched until his death.
