TWO MODELS OF AMAZON PARROTS

Meissen, models c. 1741 by J. J. Kändler.
As counterparts, models of the "medium variety". The modelled branch bases applied with leaves, one base with green heightening. Coloured in bright tones of blue, red, green and yellow. One model with traces of a blue sword mark on the unglazed underside (and inventory number 127 in black), the other model with impressed mark 57.

Kändler's work report in October 1741: "7. Einen Neuen Pappagoy mittlere Sorte in Thon poussiret welcher gegen den schon im Waaren Laager befindl. Pappagoy siehet.” (Pietsch 2002, p. 83).
