IMPORTANT MANTEL CLOCK "A L'AMOUR",Louis XVI, the dial signed CAQUERELLE A PARIS (Jacques Caquerelle, Maitre 1774), Paris circa 1780. Matte and polished gilt bronze and black and white marble. The spherical case decorated with star signs, with Cupid atop a stylised cloud, with Minerva below and 2 putti as allegories of war and peace. With 2 enamel chapter rings as "cercles tournants" and a 1/2 hour striking mechanism. With fine bronze applications. Requires servicing. Some losses. 56x20x76 cm. Provenance: from an important German private collection.

Bronze matt- und glanzvergoldet sowie schwarzer und weisser Marmor. Kugelförmiges, mit Sternzeichen beschmücktes Gehäuse mit Amoraufsatz über grosser stilisierter Wolke, darunter sitzende Minerva mit 2 Putti als Allegorien von Krieg und Frieden, seitlich 2 markante Vasen mit Früchten, Blumen und Maskaronen, auf Bastionssockel auf gequetschten Kugelfüssen. 2 Emailzifferringe als "cercles tournants" mit arabischen Minuten- und römischen Stundenzahlen. Werk mit 1/2-Stundenschlag auf Glocke. Feine Bronzeapplikationen. Zu revidieren, Fehlstellen. 56x20x76 cm.
