MANTEL CLOCK WITH BOULLE MARQUETRY
Louis XIV, France ca. 1700. The movement and the cartouche signed G. Vanderstric à Reims (Guillaume Vanderstrick).
Rectangular case, on spherical feet. Decorative bronzes (one bronze missing). Decorated with brown tortoiseshell and finely inlaid with engraved brass. Gilt bronze dial with white enamel cartouches. Blued hands. Gilt bronze applications (in part re-gilt). Movement with verge escapement, striking the 1/2-hour on bell. (Requires revision). 1 key.
