After his return to his native country, he became a member of the Great Council in Berne in 1635 and of the Small Council in 1651. In 1654, he was a builder and from 1657-1685, Venner (Officer Cadet) zu Pfistern. Numerous panels for Christoph von Graffenried are known, including those from the Church of Habkern (1666), Ringgenberg (1671), Kirchenthurnen (1673), Gsteig (1673), Beatenberg (1673), Langnau (1674), Leissigen (ca. 1675) and Steffisburg (1681).
