A RARE LACQUERED 'HINA DOLL' NETSUKE.
Japan, early 19th c. Height 10 cm.
Wood with details in red and black makie, worked as a flat shaped hina ningyô wearing a ceremonial hat, the dress is decorated with blossoms. Nicely worn.
Provenance: Old Swiss private collection, thence by descent.
