LARGE SILK AND METAL EMBROIDERY
Probably Italy, 16th century.
Polychrome silk embroidery with metal threads on a linen ground. Central field with lush tendrils, and animal figures in cartouches and in the corners. Wide tree and shrub border, with hybrid creatures and animals in the corners.
