Diese Ikone zeigt den Propheten Elia, erkennbar an seinem Schaffellumhang, der ikonographisch traditionell seinen Rückzug in eine unwirtliche Einöde signalisiert, aus der er schliesslich auch seine "Himmelfahrt im feurigen Wagen" antreten sollte. Die Ikone wurde rezent überarbeitet und partiell restauriert. Sie stammt wohl aus der Region Wologda aus dem Prophetenrang der Ikonostase einer kleineren Kirche.

Oil, tempera and mixed media on panel. The panel verso with two horizontal recesses. The paint surface with a fine network of craquelure. With small colour losses and lifting visible in parts. An old nail hammered into the panel on the right hand edge. Light abrasions along the edges. <br>Under UV light: retouching visible along the edges, on the figure and in the background. The varnish fluoresces an irregular greenish colour.<br>Good overall condition.<br>Unframed. CHF 800 / 1 200 | (€ 820 / 1 240)
