A PAIR OF LARGE TAPESTRY ARMCHAIRS
Régence, Paris, ca. 1720/30.
Beechwood carved with shell, leaves and latticework. Trapezoidal, padded seat, curved on three sides, on a cut-out frame and curved legs. Padded backrest and armrests. Later “Grand-” and “Petit-Point” cover with mythological depictions, dragons and leaves.
74 × 75 × 102 cm.
Losses to the wood. Seat covers with holes and tears.
