SAINT GEORGE
Austria, ca. 1480/90, in the style of Michael Pacher.
Limewood, fully carved, verso flattened and hollowed, polychrome painted and partially gilded. Youthful saint in full armor, slaying the dragon with a lance. Friendly facial features with intricately carved, medium-length, curly hair.
H 85 cm.
The base has been restored. The dragon's wings are loose. The sword is broken.
