A LOT OF SIX TURNED BOXES
France, late 19th century
Burlwood, partially turned and carved in relief. Five round boxes with lids, the sides retracted, one conical box. Two boxes with rotating bases, inside which is a secret compartment with an erotic scene. Depictions of “Allegorie sur la bataille d'Jena,” “Siège et prise de Caëte 1806” and 1 box with Masonic symbols, 1 box with an antique-style double portrait, 2 boxes with plant decorations and decorative figures. Interior partly with tortoiseshell inlays.
Ø 5-8 cm and L 9.5 cm.
