Lot 1066 - A218 Collection Dr Peter Ducret - jeudi, 17. septembre 2026, 14h00

PLATE

Nuremberg, circa 1750–63. Painting by Georg Friedrich Kordenbusch.
Faience decorated in high-temperature colors. Shaped, lobed form, painted with an off-center floral bouquet of roses and a passion flower, with three scattered flowering sprays on the border. Marked "N3./K:" in manganese.
Ø 25.5 cm.

The decoration includes the rare passion flower, native to South America and perhaps one of its earliest depictions in Europe, as suggested by Peter Ducret. The palette corresponds to that of the gallant scene with an allegory of autumn painted by Kordenbusch after an engraving by Nilson; see lot 1067.
Pieces marked "K:" are attributed to Georg Kordenbusch himself (Klein 1975, p. 169).
