Naturhistorische Alpenreise. With engraved frontispiece by R. Rahn after J. F. Dietler, engraved title vignette by H. Meyer after M. Disteli, 16 (4 of which are folded) mountain profiles, 9 folded tables, and 2 colored folded lithographs with glacier maps.
Solothurn, Amiet-Lutiger and Leipzig, Fleischer, 1830. 8°. [1] leaf, 378, XVI p., [1] leaf (list of illustrations). Half-leather binding from around 1920 with gold-stamped title on the spine and the original brochure covers bound in.


Poggendorff I, 1155 - Lonchamp 1561 - Dreyer 364 - Wäber III, 65 u. 136 - Wälchli 6. - First edition. - The geologist and Alpine explorer Franz Joseph Hugi (1796-1855) was one of the first to climb and survey the glaciers around the Jungfrau in the Bernese Oberland. - The frontispiece depicts a climbing scene on the Bärenwand during the ascent from Stufensteinalp to Rottal. - Some foxing, more pronounced on the title page and frontispiece. Additionally, there are two adhesive residue marks on the verso of the frontispiece.
